Xiong Jing Nan is one fighter that you as an MMA fan should know and if you don't, that's why I'm here to tell you about her. It was announced at ONE Championship: Century that Angela Lee will defend her ONE Atomweight title against Xiong Jing Nan. It's a rematch, when earlier this year at ONE Championship: A New Era in a back and forth fight, Xiong defeated Lee by TKO and also stopped Lee becoming a Double Champion aswell. Now the table has flipped as Xiong will be now looking to become a Double Champion of her own and end the Angela Lee reign at Century once and for all.
Who is Xiong Jing Nan
Xiong was Born in Shandong,China and from an early age Xiong was already miles ahead of other children when it came to being athletic and she had all the signs of becoming something special.She watched Martial Arts films when she was growing up and was inspired by them to pursue a carrer in Martial Arts.
At the age of 18 she trained in weight lifting before transitioning to Boxing, where she was on the Chinese National team. She always dreamt of becoming a World Champion, So in order to do so, she had to relocate to Beijing to focus on her career, but with that came sacrifice. She had to leave her family behind, Not so easy for Xiong as family is everything to her. Her parents supported her and she pursued a Carrer in Martial Arts.
Xiong started out in the Chinese based MMA Promotion KunLun where she dominated all her opponents, Most by TKO inside the first round. She is highly skilled in boxing,Kickboxing,Muay Thai and BJJ, A force in the cage for any opponent that fights her.
With all her impressive wins at Kunlun, She made her ONE Championship debut in 2017, knocking out April Osenio in the first round, what a way to make a debut. Her next outing was against Unbeaten fan favourite Tiffany Teo where she blasted Teo in the fourth round becoming China's first ever MMA World Champion. It was an emotional celebration as Xiong dedicated her win to her Grandparents, as she wanted to give them a better life with the money she made from MMA, Sadly both passed before she Captured the Title.
Since then Xiong has successfully defended her ONE Strawweight title twice, winning a hard fought 25 min battle against Laura Balin and then knocking out Brazilian Samara Santos Cunha in the first. Xiong is proving that all her sacrifices she made are paying off, as she still holds her title and represents her family proud on the World Stage.
She is a Superstar and now later on this year is on the verge of becoming a Two Divsion Champion when she faces Angela Lee in a rematch at ONE Championship: Century.
