Jessica Andrade will be flying aboard to defend her title this weekend at UFC Shenzhen. The Brazilian is looking to take her belt home with her and shutdown all the doubters and critics, after her last performance caused more of an uproar then a celebration. When Jessica won the Title from Rose Namajunas at UFC 237, Instead of celebrating her achievement of winning the title and her long road of ups and downs to finally get it, Fans and Critics immediately criticized how she won. I was happy that she won, as being a fan of Andrade and seeing her finally reach the top of the Divsion, she deserved to have her moment and shine in it, not get criticism right away.
Jessica Andrade will be defending her title for the first time this weekend against probably her toughest opponent yet, Weili Zhang. When the fight was first announced, it took alot of people by surprise, because it was so soon after her win and also that Weili Zhang had only 3 fights in the UFC at the time. Weili Zhang who is actually on a 19 fight win streak,including three in the UFC, has grown to be a fan favourite in such a short time. She actually is the favourite going into this fight with Andrade, more motivation to Andrade to prove everyone wrong. This is an interesting fight on both sides, as Andrade is looking to defend her title and prove to everyone that she is a legit Champion and wants to stay at the top. While Zhang wants to make history and become UFC's first ever Chinese Champion, and a win for her, Is a huge win for UFC too, Since they are looking to expand into the Chinese market, and a Champion from there will only cement UFC's legitimate there. Alot of pressure on both fighters heading into this bout, which alot of people aren't talking about.
Jessica Andrade is a World class fighter, She has unbelievable experience in Muay Thai,Boxing and Wrestling. She is not afraid to throwdown in the octagon, as seen before in her fights. I have a feeling that this fight between Andrade and Zhang is going to be a Slug-Fest.
Both Fighters are not afraid to let it go and also have unbelievable endurance.
This could be a absolute War between these two fighters.
With her home Country of Brazil backing her this weekend,along with fans around the World Jessica Andrade is going into 'Enemy Territory' this weekend at UFC Shenzhen.
Can She do the Impossible and defeat the rising star that is Weili Zhang and put not only her divsion on notice, but the entire MMA World?
I can not wait for this fight this weekend.
