This weekends main event fight will be headlined by Holly Holm when she will take on Irene Aldana in a five rounder that most likely (depending) will be for the next contender for the Bantamweight championship.
Can Holly secure a title shot with a win? or will rising star Irene put a stop to Holly gaining another shot at gold?
This feels like a passing of the torch match between both fighters.
In Her last 10 fights, including three title fights and also defending her BW title and losing it, Holly Holm has abit of a rollercoaster of wins and losses since winning the championship back in 2015.
From a high to a low and then somehow in the middle Holm has fought tough opponents the last few years including Amanda Nunes, Cris Cyborg and Valentina shevchenko, two of which where title fights. This week's Holms is looking to keep her win streak intact and hopefully land another opportunity at gold and a rematch with champion Amanda Nunes.
What would another title shot mean to Holly? Well it would be given her a second chance at recapturing the BW title she won back in 2015. It has been along journey for Holm and her path back to championship. Could this be her last shot at gold?
Holms faces rising star Irene Aldana who has been on a journey herself after fighting in the UFC since 2016.Aldana is going into this fight also looking to secure a title shot after coming off an unbelievable KO over Ketlen Vieira last year. A win over Holm will be huge for Aldana and it will guarantee her to reach the next level.
A massive fight this weekend for both fighters with a title opportunity on the line in the future.
