Less then two months ago at UFC 238 the MMA World witnessed one of the most devastating KOs ever seen in the octagon. Valentina Shevchenko defended her Flyweight title against Jessica Eye, winning the fight with the head kick heard around the World, it proved Valentina was clearly leagues ahead of the competition and not only can she KO her opponents, she can do it in Style.
Most Champions defend their belt and once they win, take time to recover and plan for the next defence, not Valentina. Valentina accepted a fight with Liz Carmouche to defend her title at UFC Uruguay, a very quick turnaround for the Champ.Wanting to Capitalise on her win and prove why is a dominant champion, the fight was official. Valentina wants to be a active Champion and no better way to do that and show how by defending her belt Twice in Three months.
As some of you may heard or you actually dont know, This isnt the First time that Valentina and Liz have fought. A few years ago, they both competed where unfortunately the fight was called off due to a doctor stoppage, when Liz hit Valentina with her heel, resulting in the doctor calling off the fight due to Valentina's eyebrow injury. It is one of Three loses on Valentina's MMA record. So Come Fight Night, best believe Valentina wants to right that wrong and avenge that loss.
It is an interesting fight given the history that these two have, also this is not Liz Carmouche's first shot at a title, Liz actually was in the first ever Womens fight in UFC facing Ronda Rousey for the Bantamweight title.Having Moved to Flyweight, Liz has now Two wins and now is back in the title picture again. The Veteran has a shot to finally capture Gold after all these years in the UFC.
Can Liz Carmouche claim the title and put a stop to Valentina's dominant win streak and put a stop to her Hype train?
Can Valentina avenge that loss, defend her belt and prove to the World why she is a dominant champion and the P4P best in the world. let's see how this plays out.
