Chris Weidman is in the history books already with the biggest MMA upset of all time when he KO'd Anderson Silva at UFC 162. At that time Weidman was 9-0 in his MMA carrer and was the underdog leading up to his fight with Silva. Weidman captured the MW title from Silva, making his mark in MMA forever. He would defend his title a total of 3 times defeating Silva again, Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida. At UFC 194 Weidman faced Luke Rockhold and lost his MW title in a dominant fashion. That loss unfortunately sparked a downfall for Weidman.

It wasn't Just the loses that affected Weidman, it was injury after injury that kept him from competing and getting back to where he was previously. With new contenders on the rise and the divsion moving forward, Weidman had alot of ground and time to make up for, but it always seemed out of reach and also impossible. Since losing his title and to Rockhold, Weidman record is 1 win and 3 losses. It was time for Weidman to change something.
This week Weidman will be making his Light-Heavyweight debut at UFC Boston.
He decided to move up a weight class and have another run at a different division. However Weidman first fight at LHW is no easy task as he takes on Dominick Reyes who is on a tear since coming to the UFC. Reyes is undefeated in his MMA carrer and is on a 5 fight win streak since debuting in the UFC.
This is the "do or die" fight for Weidman,
this is his chance of getting back in the win column, a rebirth in his carrer, start anew. A win for Weidman over Reyes in this fight could even put him in contender talks with Jon Jones at some point. If that doesn't motivate Weidman to win this fight at UFC Boston, then nothing will.

This is actually a very important fight in Weidman's carrer, as I said above this is his "do or die" fight meaning he has alot to gain with a win, but a lost will be more devastating, maybe calling it a day if he loses.
This weekend at UFC Boston,it is the biggest test of Chris Weidman's carrer, will a move in weight class give him a new lease on his carrer? A win put him back into the title picture, where he hasn't been in some time or will this weekend be Weidman's last bout?
A final farewell to the 'All American'.
