This weekend at UFC 253 a fight that has been nearly a year in the making and is getting the attention it deserves will take place. Fight fans have clearly drawn the line on who their supporting and who their standing with. A fight that has more then just a title on the line; reputation,legacy,pride come with it also. The fight that has everyone talking.
Its Brazil vs New Zealand, strength vs speed, its Israel Adesanya vs Paulo Costa. The Bull vs the Matador.
The fight meant to take place earlier this year but with an injury to Costa that sidelined him, the UFC moved on. Israel wanted to prove to the fans and to himself that he is the best in the world, so he called out the toughest opponent in the divsion: Yoel Romero. What was meant to be a highly anticipated title fight turned out to be as the fan say a "snooze fest". The fight didn't hurt Israel's stock but It didn't stop the fans from from questioning his ability in in the octagon and as a champion.
Now this weekend Israel will be looking to put on performance of a lifetime against Paulo Costa, shut the critics up and add another title defence to his name, but he will have to do and back up what he says because Israel has never fought a Fighter like Costa before.
A former Jungle Fight MMA Champion Paulo Costa is a beast of a athlete who has left many of his opponents in waste since he started his MMA carrer. The undefeated Brazilian has KO power and his relentless pressure go hand in hand of what makes him a threat to the champion. Costa is without a doubt, the toughest fighter in the MW divsion racking up KO after KO since debuting in the UFC in 2017. Borrachinha will be looking to finally shut down the hype train that is Israel Adesanya and bring the belt back to his homeland of Brazil.
Can Costa do what no one has done before? Will he put an end to an undefeated streak and take the belt from Israel?
Can Israel overcome the Beast that is Costa? Find a way to take him down or even out?
