Let me take you back to 2012 a Interim title fight between Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz took place at UFC 143. Condit was on a four fight win streak defeating the likes of Dan Hardy, Rory Macdonald and Dong Hyun Kim. He was unstoppable and he was proving it to the MMA world why they called him "The "Natural Born Killer". The Fight with Diaz would be a 25 min test of will for both fighters as they went shot for shot with each other. Condit outlanded Diaz in the overall fight becoming the Interim WW champion.

Condit would later go onto face George St-Pierre for the WW title at UFC 154.Condit would again go 25 mins with GSP, nearly dethroning the champion with a head kick in Round 3.

It would be Fight of the Night but the fight would go to GSP reclaiming his title. Condit looked to start his run to the title again after the defeat but it would be 4 years until we see him in a title fight again. He went onto losing to Jonny Hendricks, getting a TKO victory over Martin Kampmann and getting sidelined with an knee injury in a fight with Tyron Woodley. It was a tough break for NBK.

Condit would take a year to recover from his knee injury and again embarked on another path to the championship. His first fight back since his injury would be against Thiago Alves were Condit would get back in the win column, breaking Alves nose in the fight.

The win would secure him his second title opportunity against new welterweight kingpin Robbie Lawler.

This fight would be the turning point for Condit, in more ways then one.

Lawler and Condit would go on to putting on one of the greatest fights of all time, a instant classic and 2016's fight of the year. Both men went to war with each other for 25 mins ripping each other apart, given and taken plenty of damage in the process. As I said this fight was a turning point for Condit, he just put on the performance of a lifetime nearly defeating Lawler for the title, with fans still to this day saying Condit won the fight, but this unfortunately would lead to Condits downfall.

As of 2020 Condit is now on a five fight losing streak since his legendary fight with Lawler in 2016. How much has changed. It has been a tough few years for Condit and especially MMA fans seeing him on this losing streak. Going from fighting the top of the divsion and title shots to this is really tough to see.

This weekend at UFC Fight Island Condit will be looking to break his losing streak by taken on Court McGee. This feels like a retirement fight ( or maybe it should be) for Carlos as it does seem that he is at the end of his carrer. Another loss would be devastating for NBK and not the ending any fighter wishes. Every fighter wants to go out on a win and this weekend Condit can do that.

Its make or break for Carlos Condit this weekend as this fight has more on the line the any of his last few fights.

Is this the last time we see NBK fight?

Win or lose, Carlos Condit will go down in MMA as one of the best and toughest welterweights of all time. His legacy is set and his fights are legendary.

Best of luck Carlos Condit.

The gun-slinger with his last shot.
