This Weekend at UFC Shenzhen Weili Zhang will get her shot at UFC Strawweight Champion Jessica Andrade in the main event. When the fight was announced, it was a complete surprise to fans and critics that this fight was booked so quickly after Andrade's win and also with Zhang's position in the ranks, alot of us questioned the decision first, but soon agreed that, It actually made sense. With the UFC looking to expand into the Chinse Market and having opend the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, The UFC are putting alot into their expansion in the East and having a potential Champion aswell, Will be Huge for them.
Weili Zhang is on a Incredible winning streak at the moment, 19-1 to be exact, only having one loss on her carrer and that being her debut MMA fight. After that one loss, she started on a winning streak that is unmatched to many other MMA fighters, most of her wins come by way of TKO or Submission. She has unbelievable cardio, Muay Thai,Kickboxing and BJJ skills that make her a threat to anyone who stands in the cage with her.
She made her debut in the UFC in 2018 at UFC 227 against Danielle Taylor, where she showed her tremendous skills and won the fight by decision after it went the distance. Her next fight was back in her home country when she took on Jessica Aguilar and defeated her in the first round by Submission. Her most recent fight was against A more top ranked opponent, Tecia Torres, who is now on a four fight losing streak, first losing to Now Champion Jessica Andrade. It was Zhang's Toughest opponent since she sighed to UFC, but she blasted Torres and put the whole divsion on notice with her win.
Now This Weekend Zhang has a huge opportunity to become the first ever Chinese UFC champion and celebrate a long journey to the top and propel her career to unbelievable heights when she competes for the UFC Strawweight title, but she has one of the toughest fighters in the UFC in her way,Jessica Andrade. The Brazilian is not afraid of throwing down in the cage and also has elite Wrestling skills. The Champ is looking to prove to everyone that her win over Former Champ Rose Namajunas was no fluke and that she is a deserving Champion and wants to keep the belt and bring it back to Brazil.
This is a big fight between the two fighters and there is so much at stake that is bigger then the title itself.
