Dominick Reyes is literally only one win away from everything that he worked for in his MMA carrer. Reyes is on a 5 fight win streak at the moment since his debut in the UFC back in 2017. Thats only two years ago and now he's in reaching distance of knocking on the door to face LHW Champion Jon Jones. Reyes would have to first deal with Chris Weidman in the main event at UFC Boston. Reyes has flown under the radar in the LHW division for his first few fights to be honest, and picked up alot of steam as he was edging closer and closer to title talks. Reyes is an explosive fighter and is dangerous on the feet and ground. He knocked out Jared Cannonier with a vicious uppercut, before that completely walked him down. He dominated OSP aswell Knockout OSP down with one second left in the fight. Reyes might not look like your typical MMA fighter, but he has power and isn't afraid to use it.
He fought earlier this year at UFC London, where this fight was meant to be the fight to prove to all the MMA fans and critics, that he was next in line to face Jon Jones. This was his time,Reyes faced Volkan Oezdmeir in London. Reyes ended up winning the fight but many fans and critics believed Reyes didn't perform well and also that Volkan was the actually winner of the fight. Volkan has said in interviews since, that he wants to run it back with Reyes at some point.
Reyes now has this opportunity he has worked so hard for and it only one fight away. He believes a win over Chris Weidman will guarantee him next to face Jon Jones. Reyes has already said he's "The One" to defeat Jones and is confident enough to do so.
